How Can I Tell When I Am Stressed?
I am sitting here thinking about what I should blog about and I decided to talk to you like you are my best friends. This will give you a chance to get to know me better.
I am in the process of converting my brick and mortar business to that of being mostly an online business.
What this means is I am learning all the ins and outs of social bookmarking, building traffic to my sites, creating web pages, writing blogs, seeing clients, ordering products, and doing bookeeping among all the other duties of running a business.
Not only that but I also have a full time job on top of all of this. This is creating wear and tear on my body.
The way this manifest in my body, begins with chronic neck and shoulder pain resulting in chronic headaches. The quickest and laziest solution is to take an aspirin. If I don’t pay attention to these symptoms, the symptoms move down my back and into my legs. The next thing that happens is my whole back is on fire my skin itches and I have heartburn.
The fact that I know myself well I know for me these are symptoms of stress. That I am not taking care of myself. That taking care of other people, running a business is more important then caring care of myself. That is so WRONG. I do not take enough time in between to rest, meditate or just BE.
I am always thinking about the next thing that I have to do. My mind never has the time to rest.
Every time I have a thought whether it positive or negative it release a chemical which cause a stressful reaction in my body. Over time this will cause the breakdown of tissues in my body, causing me to age faster or develope degenerative diseases such as arthritis or other inflammatory diseases.
If I would allow this to continue for a long period to time I could develop chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia.
In my mind I still think that I am SuperWoman but my body is telling me otherwise.
I have gone through this cycle of symptoms in the last two weeks and I am really Listening NOW.
I Promise myself that I will take 20 minutes of quiet time every day. On top of that excercise every other day to keep my body, healthy and vital. I will no longer come from a place of anxiety and fear that I have to get this done all in one day or 1 week. That I will listen to my body so I can keep healthy and vital.
